Version 20200624: introducing a PWA, new apps and tiles.
Feature: progressive web app (PWA)
Progressive web apps (PWA) are built to take advantage of native mobile device features, without requiring the end-user to visit an app store, make a purchase, and download software locally. PWAs function like native apps; when installed, they appear as icons on a phone’s home screen, alongside a user’s other apps. Our PWA is based on the React framework.
For small business users, our PWA looks and operates like any other app they use, and has all the functionality of the 9 Spokes dashboard – bringing their business insights to their fingertips, anytime and anywhere. For our bank partners and Direct (our direct-to-business channel), it is an added-value service for small business customers and offers greater flexibility.
The PWA was released on 9 Spokes Direct and Bank of New Zealand's (BNZ) MyBusiness Live. Small business users across both platforms can now install a branded app (9 Spokes or BNZ) to their phone. The PWA is available on iOS and Android via native browsers - i.e. the browsers that come with your operating system, that you don't install on your device.
We’re currently completing work on PWAs for our other channels.

Expensify
Built for expense management, receipt scanning, and business travel, with Expensify businesses can snap a photo of a receipt using SmartScan and it automatically transcribes the details, categorizing and coding each receipt. The app can even automatically submit business expenses for approval and reimbursement.
Connecting Expensify gives businesses increased oversight of their money. With a clear view of expenses businesses can prioritize and plan expense settlement with greater ease.

Talenox
A cloud-based HR software with human-centered design, Talenox transforms daunting HR and payroll tasks into simple and streamlined processes. Talenox is designed to manage payroll and leave, and stores employee details – all from a central location. It’s currently available in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
People are a pivotal part of every business; people management is essential to running a smooth operation. Connecting Talenox helps businesses to organize payroll, manage leave requests, and evaluate their available people resources to plan accordingly.

Admin claims tile
Powered by Expensify
The Admin Claims tile gives a business a view of their expense claims by status – open, processing, approved, and reimbursed. It shows the total number of claims under each category, listing the 10 most recent expense claims ordered from newest to oldest. The tile also shows the total value of the business' expense claims for this financial year under each category.
Connecting the tile provides an overview of a business’ expenses to date and the status of each, so they know what’s paid, what’s processing and what needs to be approved. It's all about helping to prioritize expenses and plan settlement of expense claims – and lightening that administrative burden.
Top expenses tile

The Top Expenses tile shows which categories contribute most to a business’ expenses – for example, travel, accommodation, networking. The Tile shows the total expenses for each category, as well as a business' total expenses for this year.
Connecting this tile helps businesses to evaluate where money is spent, which can inform future spending decisions.
Oldest expenses tile
Powered by Expensify
The Oldest expenses tile lists the expense claims that need to be approved by the business. It shows how much they are and how many days since the expense was submitted. The tile also displays the value of the average expenses claim.
The Oldest expenses tile helps to prioritize a businesses expenses and can be used to plan settlement. Knowing what money is due when, enhances a business' overview of their cash flow.
My expenses tile

The My Expenses tile allows individuals to filter their expense claims by status – open, processing, approved, and reimbursed. It shows the total number of claims they've made under each category, listing the 10 most recent expense claims ordered from newest to oldest. The tile shows an individual's total expense claims for the financial year under each category.
With an overview of expenses to date and the status of each, users can see what’s paid, what’s processing and what needs to be approved by their company. This helps them to prioritize their expenses and plan plan their expense claims.
People on leave tile
Powered by Talenox
The People on Leave tile helps to centralize employee management. Drawing on on a businesses connected HR software, it displays information such as, who is currently on leave and who will be on leave in the next 30 days. The tile also records the type of leave – whether paid, unpaid, sick – and the request status (pending or approved).
Users can access leave request details by clicking on any entry to see overlapping leave requests, as well as details including leave type, request status, and leave dates.
Connecting the People on Leave tile provides a comprehensive overview of employee availability so that businesses can plan and deploy their people resources effectively.
